Hello stranger, long time no see!

Well hello there, its been like, forever since I last blogged, ha well actually since last august i believe. Guess I've been too busy living to actually put fingers to keyboard and write my thoughts and randoms down on this blog. I wish I was more motivated to do it. I read some amazing blogs and the attention to detail and effort they put in is so inspiring, but yet i don't add the same tender loving care to my own blog. Add to the fact I can't access my blog at work (boo hiss) and I totally forget to update it when i get home and get distracted by other things.

Hey ho!

So alot has happened, to a certain degree. I got a new job back at the end of august, not my ideal job i hasten to add, but it pays the bills, is a secure admin role in a huge education company in cambridge and keeps me off the streets for now. I'm still looking for my dream job in marketing and comms, but as the job market is such a nightmare at the moment i'm happy to just have a job period. So watch this space in the future months to see how i get on job hunting. *Sigh*. Its all i seem to have done these past 2 years! lol

After starting my new job i went to a lovely wedding in october in scotland, i went by train (don't ask) with a 'friend' (file in the 'not so friendly list of friends' box) and it was the journey home from hell. I wont go into detail, its too yawnsome to give energy to, but suffice to say thats the last time you get me on a frigging train to scotland! As much as i loved Dornoch, the scottish people (SO friendly - i heart the scots) and the wedding, it was just a royale mess travelling there and back. I did it as a favour for my not so happy non frequent flyer friend, and went with her on the train. She wont be travelling with me again, EVER.

Ok scary rant over! LOL. Of course christmas was after that and that was fun, a bit of family tension and drama at times, but you know, it wouldn't be christmas without a little drama eh!
Due to my ikkle neice being ill over xmas, i took my sisters husbands place at a wedding in london, was a fabulous wedding, free bar, moat on tap all day, so obviously i was slightly merry, and oggled up northern actor William Ash, who currently stars in Waterloo Road, shame his fiancee was there too, bummer!

Since about christmas I have been in random communication with a boy. Yes, a real one, not the one in my head ha ha. I 'met' him on match.com a few years back, he seemed cute, but too young, and also a bit of a douchebag by my standards. I told him to eff off and thought that would be the last i would hear of him. Ha, well it appears not. He 'stalked' me on msn for a few years, trying to get me to meet him, i told him to take a hike. But then over christmas, feeling bored and over the christmas festivities and slightly lost of ones fizz, he asked me out again. This time I said yes.

So we met up last week (finally after alot of talk on the phone and sorry cant do that week ' im washing my hair' ha ha not) and it went really well. Well i stayed for two hours talking to him, which in my dating how to book is practically two thumbs up and lets look at wedding venues. Ha ha i kid i kid.
No normally my dates are non existent, because i either cancel, take one look at them and say im either double booked, feeling unwell or just have to go to the toilet,.....and never come back,.....!!!
Hideously awful and cringe worthy i know, poor guys, but tbh i would rather just skeedaddle then have to sit awkwardly with them for 30 minutes to an hour, or less, whatever, just making small talk when i know instantly that i dont fancy them and that its not gonna happen.
Sounds cruel i know, and i have been cruel at times, and rather blonde too, when i went to the toilet during one date and texted my mum to say 'hes nice but a bit dull' and accidentley sent the text to the date,......ahh, oops!!

But this date went really well. I was super surprised. He was cute to boot (and normally they never look like their photos - or they use really old ones when they had hair and now they dont) and actually had something interesting, charming and funny to say. Not full of himself like i was expecting him to be. I was quite the smitten kitten! He is 8 years younger than me, which isnt a huge deal, but im just living in the moment and having some fun, its cool to be dating again and just enjoying it all, and we will be seeing each other again soon i hope. He seems quite keen and as am I, so I shall update my blog with news when i have it, watch this space!!

In memoriam

I can't actually believe its already sunday evening, where has the weekend gone?! Kind of scary actually. I had a lovely weekend, went round a friends for dinner which was yummy and considering she cant eat wheat the dinner was very impressive! We went into town and had a drink after that but it was just lovely going round her house and hanging out, my kind of evening these days, god i sound so old! LOL

Anyway just a quick update. Today is quite a sad day for me, well it not due to anything personal at all, but I am a huge fan of this lady and its 40 years ago today the dreadful and barbaric acts happened in 1969. I dont want to give too much energy to what happened, but just wanted to mention Sharon Tate and just for people to remember her the way she was and not how she died. She was a beautiful soul and I really hope she is at peace now, and my thoughts are with her family on this sad day.

RIP Sharon Tate - Jan 24th 1943 - August 9th 1969

Beauty addict continues her evil destruction!!

Ok so I haven't blogged for a while, sometimes I get the urge, sometimes I don't. Much like writing in my diary when i was 14, and i wrote in my diaries religiously for 7 odd years about SO much random crap, hilarious to read them now, at the time, not so much as I lived through it! lol

(being a teenager can be such a drag, regardless of how Hollywood likes to make it out as all cutesy and fluffy a la clueless mine was more like mean girls/pretty in pink, without the happy endings - if only my life was like Cher's was in clueless,...*sigh*)

Anyways reasons for writing don't come anymore random than a few randoms. ?!. I just wanted to share my most recent purchase today on ebay:

Its a gorgeous nude eyeshadow palette by Bobbi Brown from her Nudes collection (we are talking make up here not artistic nudes!!) and its de-gorgeous!!!! Of course I splurged money i dont really have but hey lifes for living right?! And having the best looking eye shadow make up e-v-e-r! LOL. I do make my self laugh for my self justification for said purchase but i felt i had to buy it. I had two crappy job interviews today and didn't feel 100% positive about the outcomes of them so went on ebay and ker-ching; i brought these beauties. And personally I did save some money. It retails at £42 on the http://www.bobbibrown.co.uk/ website and I brought this for roughly about £37 inc postage from america, so i felt pretty chuffed with ma good self. And it will last me years, i now because i still have my Chanel 4 eye shadow compact from like 5 years ago and its still good to go, although now i have some newer brown eye shadows i should probably throw that one out, the hygenine make up police will be after me!! LOL

Oh and I also brought this last night too:

Its from www.esprit.co.uk and its super cute (but ignore the belt - looks so wrong with it) and quite sixties (my constant obsession at the moment along with the hair, make up, music, i wont bore you anymore! and its a gorgeous colour and will take me into winter and will look fab with opaque tights or leggings. I haven't got it yet, so not sure how it will look on but will report back.
Also seen a cute dress on mango.com so might check them out too. I need a dress as I'm off to Leeds to par-tay with the girls in a few weeks time.

Just heard Madonna's new tune 'celebration' which is a-m-a-z-i-n-g and a sure fire hit I hope. She deserves a number one personally, and the fact that we are without our King anymore we need to apprieciaite our Queen! I love it. It has touches of Get Together and Hung up in it, a return to form, she wants to leave the hip hop to those who know, dance is her thang!!

Right I'm signing off, i have things to do. Adios!

Beauty Beauty Beauty!!

Ok so its nearly my lovely friend Jo's wedding on saturday 18th July in cambridge. Am getting rather excited for a good old knees up. This is probably one of the weddings i am looking forward to the most, apart from mine (ha whenever that happens!) and my sisters which was back in 2004 and was the hottest day in august and my hair and bridesmaid dress weren't my favourites, but hey can't win em all!

I'm really looking forward to this one because I will know so many of the people going, alot of the girls are great friends of mine, and I've even made new friends of Jo's on her hen do, which was so much fun. Can't wait to see all the girls again!

Well I am currently toying with make up and hair ideas for saturday. I am definatley going to curl/wave my hair with my trusty GHD's. But how i am going to do the style depends.

My hair icon is Lauren Conrad and has been for sometime. Everytime she does her hair it looks amazing, never a hair out of place and is perfectley styled and shiny. I don't know how she does it (well i suppose having MTV running around after you helps) and I love that she experiments with her hair. I never thought to curl or wave my hair until the last year or so. And since I have I've really liked it and found it suited me pretty well.

Its definately something you have to play around with though, and really curled hair doesn't suit me and you have to start curling the hair just at the right length of the hair, as if you start at the root and curl out it can look pretty dated.

I was origionally going to style my look on Sharon Tate, but have decided that the 60's look probably isn't ideal for a wedding and i want it to still be quite californian relaxed style but not overly so.

My dress is from Monsoon and is a royal blue shift dress, which sits just above the knee. I am wearing black 3 inch sandals from Moda in Pelle,I am taking a silver clutch bag from Dune (old faithfull) and my jewellry will be silver again and I am keeping it low key, a butterfly silver necklace, some big silver drop earrings, not sure which ones yet! And some silver rings. If my order from Lucid New York turns up I will be wearing a cocktail ring and a silver cupcake charm necklace, but I don't imagine it will be hear yet!

My make up will be a mix of MAC studio fix liquid foundation, Maybelline dream liquid foundation and Boujois 10 hr sleep effect, all mixed together and applied with a MAC stippling brush. I will set it with MAC blot loose powder. I will use YSL radiant touch and MAC studio sculpt concealor around my dark circles and imperfections. I will use NARS Laguna bronzer all over my face, and then add some Benefit High Beam on my cheeks. My eye shadow will be MACs all that glitters all overmy eye and then I will use my Shu Uemura Black liquid eyeliner on the top of my eyelash line and wing it out. Then I will use Dior Mascara in Dior show (the best one IMO ) and then add to the corners of my lashes invidual lashes from Shu Uemura or MACS eye lashes, not sure yet! And use either MAC snob pale lipstick or Boujois pale lipstick and either use MAC Nymphette lipglass or Prr or en pointe lipglass throughout the day, all are my favourites.

And voila! That will be me done hopefully! LOL

Sparkle Superstar

Thought I would blog today, the whole Michael Jackson memoriam and coverage has been rather depressing of late, I am glad it is almost all over, i've cried quite a few tears over it all, and hopefully now his family can get some closure and time to grieve without the media furor, although I very much doubt it will die down for sometime.

Anyhow I have had a great weekend, I went to see the Queen of Pop Madonna at the O2 on saturday, she did a touching tribute to MJ which of course made me cry, how could you not be touched by this? Add to the fact she is the same age, same musical era, and they have met each other many times, it just added to the poinency of it all. She didn't sing (can you imagine how she would be ridiculed for that?) but instead a dancer came on dressed as MJ and did some moves, while M and dancers looked on. It was short and sweet but moving, and images of MJ on the screens only added to it. Add to the fact he was due to play here next week and its even more heartbreaking. RIP MJ.

I also saw the amazing Take That at wembley stadium on the sunday which was AMAZING. I lvoed M's show but Take That suppassed it by miles, it was breathtaking! The Circus theme worked so well and visually there was so much to see, i didnt want the show to end! Loved it, and cant wait for the dvd.

This weekend its my sisters 35th, which i cant believe as she still looks 28 to me! Hard to believe she has had a baby, Mia bless her will be 2 in august!
Anyhow it will be a nice family weekend, going out for lunch and having a few drinks of bubbly i hope!

Tomorrow i am out for dinner with some of the girls from Jo Batemans hen do, and some who couldnt make it which will be lovely. A pre dinner meal before Jos big day on saturday 18th July. I hope the weather is kind to her and Martin, i have a feeling its mixed weather for next week, but hopefully not.

Right, i'd better get back to work, off to town at 5 and to have a mosey around the shops!

The music will live on

No words can express, only memories left. I grew up with his music, his videos, his moves, his energy and his unique talent that he shared with the world. There will never be another like him, never before and never after. I will always remember his gift and what he shared with us all. And how I felt as a kid, so alive dancing and singing to his music.

Thanks MJ for everything you gave us, especially me, and made me feel so happy and free when i danced to your music. I am so privledged to have grown up with your music and feel happy that you left such a mark on popular culture.

May you rest in peace XXXX
