Wow, so I haven't blogged on here for months now, but yesterday, as i was browsing the blogs of others I suddunly got the urge to blog once again, as I decided I will mix up my writing a bit, with bits of info on what make up i've brought recently (trust me, theres always something!) with what movies, music and stuff i'm into.
Well thought I would write a little about my most recent style inspiration. Now I don't really have many people that inspire my look so to say, I do have people i look up to inspiration wise, but I don't really want to dress or look like them (well not anymore!). Madonna and Marilyn Monroe I will count among those I admire and respect greatly. I don't really feel the need to dress like them though, but love their unique style and attitude.
Now at the moment I have been greatly influenced by one lady, I wouldn't say my everyday attire is like hers (although if funds allowed I would dress like her if i could) but I just love her overall look and style and especially her hair and make up.
I just think Sharon had such beauty and style and class, and of course she died in such horrific and horrendous circumstances almost nearly 40 years ago this August 8th. I wont focus on her death so much here as it is such an awful thing to discuss, and I think we should remember Sharon for her beauty and grace and her style, and not let these monsters cloud this memory we have of her.
So anyhow, she is my style icon at the moment, I don't know how it came about, I think I was just browsing the internet and came across a photo of her. To me she sums up the style of the 60s and especially of california in the 60's, somewhere I wish i had been able to have experienced. I am pretty much obsessed with the 60s right now, its not something new to me, I even did my A Level art project on 60s fashion when i was 18 so I've always had a facination with it. I think as I am getting older and discovering my style more and what I prefer, I am more drawn to the style of the 60s, as i love the shifts dresses, the laid back hippy vibe of the late 60s and the mod look of the 60s. I am obsessed with the doors and all things 60s music anyway, so i feel a great love of the fashion and the time.
Adding to this I am trying to get my look more 60s when i go out. I did get my hair coloured recently, although not as blonde as i would like, s am going to make another appointment to get it coloured in July. I definatley want more of a malibu barbie colour going, (sharon tatw was the influence for malibu barbie did you know) and am also loving fake eye lashes, i have two pairs from MAC (one pair are totally 60s ) and love the whole make up look that was going in the 60s.
I am trying to loose weight too, after bulking up too much in the last 6 months or so, and just eating a load of rubbish. I am now determined to get down to a small size 12 (not going to go anymore than that - it wouldnt work long term for me anyway) although I know I wont achieve this before the hen do in 3 weeks time (more about that later) I know that I will definatley have lost at least 5 pounds by Jo B's wedding in July. Am going to be eating alot more salads and healthier snacks and things. It cant be done! Sharon Tate is my inspiration : )
